Origin: GR [a formation built with Greek elements].
Etymology: According to Latte Glotta 32, 37f. (with Wilamowitz), haplological for *ἀμαλλολογία prop. `colleting sheaves', then `the accompanying song' \> `bragging'. Frisk called it "sehr hypothetisch". From *ἀμαλο-λογία Grošel Živa Ant. 7, 1957, 40.
